Concrete Flooring
Concrete floors are strong and durable, offering a solid base for heavy-use areas. However, they should always be used with rubber mats on top to ensure comfort and prevent injuries. They’re ideal for permanent stables and wash bays.
Clay or Earth Flooring
This natural flooring type is soft underfoot and provides a comfortable surface for horses. However, it requires regular maintenance and good drainage, as it can become muddy or uneven over time.
Gravel or Crushed Stone Flooring
Gravel provides excellent drainage and stability. Often used under bedding, it helps keep the surface dry and odor-free. However, it’s recommended to cover it with mats or sand for comfort.
